Independent. Motivated. Passionate. Three words that I would use to describe who I am. I am always striving to better myself; my body, my mind, and my soul. I work hard to live a healthy lifestyle but also balance creativity with developing my career skills.

This summer I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Communications. Right now I am in the transition period between student and career woman (no more Uggs!). I am the Social Media Coordinator and Assistant Content Editor & Developer for Alphastox, an investor relations company based in Vancouver, and Social Media Coordinator for Brisco Capital (also investor relations company) in Calgary. I also am working on launching my own clothing line, The Bleached Tee, which is a collection of casual clothing that I have hand-painted bleach patterns on. Even though I work from home, I still find it important to look put-together and professional in everyday life; it fuels my confidence and passion. When I go for a business look I try to stay away from stuffy looking suits and all black outfits.
Many people believe that black is the most professional color; while it does bring simplicity and sophistication, color always adds to a great business look. To emphasize my point, one of my favourite business looks (photographed above) is inspired by anything but black. Sporting beige pants from Abercrombie and Fitch with a polka dotted blouse from Express, I have paired a neutral with a pattern: not too flashy, but not boring. The bright pink belt from Forever 21 and beige heals from Steve Madden bring the outfit together in a fun way.
A perfect outfit begins with a combination of style and comfort; anyone who knows me knows that I do not like jeans because they offer little comfort. I strive to find a great outfit that provides me with satisfying comfort because it allows me to focus on the job at hand and hold my head up high instead of fidgeting with the outfit and being distracted by its discomfort. This outfit allows me to sit or walk around without having to readjust anything, but still look professional.
Another bonus is its versatility: the outfit can be worn during the work day but also is appropriate for drinks or dinner in the evening. This outfit also demonstrates a good look does not have to be overly expensive. As a recent grad I understand that a student budget can limit the choice of brands, and increase the need for finding pieces that can be used in multiple outfits. The whole outfit was about $200 and all of the pieces are flexible and can be used with other looks (casual or a night out).
